Howest has consistently been at the forefront of blockchain technology, initiating research in 2016 and launching educational programs in 2017. Far from chasing trends, they've dedicated themselves to understanding the practical applications of decentralized technologies for organizations.
The Hyperledger Foundation, a branch of the Linux Foundation, serves as a hub for collaborative development of open-source blockchain solutions designed for enterprise use. In December 2022, Howest expanded its industry collaboration by becoming an associate member of the Hyperledger Foundation.
Our research team has emerged as a pioneer within the EBSI / Europeum ecosystem, cultivating significant knowledge in government-led permissioned ecosystems for cross-border verification—a field underpinned by Hyperledger technologies. It was this specialized knowledge that Robby and Shane showcased at the Hyperledger Member Summit and the Linux Open Source Summit, held on consecutive days earlier this week, bringing valuable insights into the potential of blockchain to facilitate secure, international transactions and data integrity
