INTERREG: Secuweb

Secure use of data is a societal challenge in Flanders, Wallonia and France alike and concerns governments as well as companies, organizations, research institutions and citizens. Data are an essential resource for economic growth, competitiveness, innovation, job creation of jobs and social progress. The way data is handled today is no longer tenable and leads to its unsafe use.

With the Interreg Fr-W-Vl project SecuWeb, CITC, Eurasanté, Howest, Idelux, Sirris, UCLouvain, UGent and UPHF under the coordination of TUA West are working on a more secure future internet. We focus on the applications and implementation of innovative technologies that lead to safer data use at companies and organizations. We address the sectors of e-health, industry 4.0, mobility and food, which are important spearheads for the economy of our regions.

The project partners are jointly conducting research on how innovative technologies such as solid, blockchain, the quantum net, 5G, AI and IoT can be deployed for safer data use. The partners from the different regions have complementary expertise and infrastructure making them perfectly complement and reinforce each other.

To inform, inspire and sensitize companies and organizations in the field of safe data use, we organize cross-border inspiration days, demonstrations, lectures and workshops. We carry out a needs analysis among the target group in order to best meet their needs in terms of secure data use.

Finally, together with companies and organizations from the e-health, industry 4.0, mobility and food sectors, we are developing some use cases. Through these use cases, we show users how the innovative technologies for safer data use can be deployed in their company or organization.

The results of the project will be widely disseminated in the Interreg Fr-W-Vl region and will benefit both companies and knowledge institutions and authorities in the 3 regions
